1. Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and optionally a profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. When you submit a restroom review, we collect your ratings, comments, and any photos you upload. When you add a restroom location, we collect the name, address, and any details you provide. We also collect standard usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve the app.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the flush. service, display your reviews and contributions on the platform, send you notifications about restrooms you follow or manage, process business sponsorship and claim requests, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Photos and user content
Photos you upload are stored securely and displayed publicly on the restroom listing. By uploading a photo you confirm you have the right to share it. We reserve the right to remove photos that violate our community guidelines. Do not upload photos containing identifiable people without their consent.
4. Location data
We request access to your device location solely to show nearby restrooms on the map and calculate distances. We do not store your location history. Location access is optional — you can use flush. without enabling location permissions.
5. Business accounts
If you claim a business listing, we collect your business name, contact email, and phone number for verification purposes. This information is used internally to process your claim and is not displayed publicly without your consent.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies to keep you logged in across sessions. We may use anonymized analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. We do not use advertising cookies or share data with advertising networks.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@doyouflush.com. Reviews and restroom submissions may be retained in anonymized form after account deletion to preserve the integrity of the platform data.
8. Third party services
flush. uses the following third party services: Google Maps API for map display and location search, Supabase for database and authentication infrastructure, Vercel for app hosting, and Resend for transactional email delivery. Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing their use of data.
9. Children
flush. is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@doyouflush.com.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of flush. after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. California privacy rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (flush. does not sell personal information to third parties), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise any of these rights please contact us at privacy@doyouflush.com. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days.
12. International users
flush. is operated in the United States and is intended for users in the United States. If you are located outside the United States please be aware that information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
